Fox clan

The heroine of this story, a fox girl who lives in Fox Village. To take back the stolen drum, she heads into Red Oni Forest with nothing but her power to transform.

Forms化ける姿

With the fox clan's power to transform, Rin changes her form. Each form runs differently, reaches different places, and can do different things.

  • Fox form キツネ Hold to dash Hold the special button to dash. Fast on her feet, and climbs ladders with ease.
  • Human form ヒト Slide Double jump. You take no damage while sliding, so slip behind enemies. Attacks in mid-air deal heavy damage.
  • Red Oni form アカオニ Hold to charge Hold the special button to charge, then release to smash "brittle rocks".
  • Kappa form カッパ Coming in the full release Strong near water. Moves like a human.
  • Tanuki form タヌキ Coming in the full release Floats down gently. Cannot jump high, but stays in the air for a long time.

Using her fox powers, Rin can transform into many forms, taking on not only the appearance of her target but its abilities as well. As a human she handles weapons with skill; as a Red Oni or a Kappa she gains that race's special powers. Master each race's abilities to fight battles on your terms and uncover the secrets hidden in each stage.

People of Fox Villageきつね村の人たち

In Fox Village, there are people who send Rin on her way.

  • Mizuki ミズキ Rin's guide. Teaches her how transforming works.
  • Satsuki サツキ The best at transforming in the village. Rin learns the human form from her.
  • Sontyo ソンチョー The village chief. Gives the quest to find the lost drop of the sacred tree.
  • Shugo シュウゴ A young man of the village who asks for help mending the ladder and dealing with the Onipan.
  • Yukie ユキエ A villager who asks you to gather herbs.
  • Nagito ナギト A young villager. Cannot fight, but he is fast.
  • Hina ヒナ A child of the village. Tells you the rumour about the kappa bamboo grove.
  • Merchant 商人 A travelling merchant. Secretly a fox.

It is not only oni who block the road. Some announce themselves before they stand in your way.

Mischievous oni who ravage the forest

"Nobody runs wild on our mountain and gets away with it!"

Together they are "Okonico". Anyone who steps into their territory gets chased out by brute force. Oko has one horn on his forehead, Nico has two.

The forest holds others who will get in Rin's way.

  • Oni multiplying in the forest. They have come close to the village, so you are asked to deal with them.

  • Oni lurking in the forest. Sometimes drop a horn when defeated.
